Local talent to contest Classic

LOCAL players are well represented in all age groups of the Coffs Harbour 4WD Centre Junior Squash Classic this weekend.

Players from Sydney, Central Coast, Hunter regions and North Coast centres will compete in the two-day State Silver event.

In the under-13 division, Jacob Ford and Jacob Bird will be among the favourites, while Ryan Marshall and Brad Harrison will be looking to continue their good form but can expect stiff competition from Liam Ferreira and Patrick Hart of Sydney and Darcy Evan of Lismore.

In under-15 girls, Oliviah Swainston and Faith Hyland-Taylor will benefit from some hard match play and will be looking to challenge opponents from Gloucester, Big River and Coutts Crossing.

The under-17 boys group will be hotly contested with Wil Bradshaw (Bellingen), Keeland Birch (Coffs Harbour), Nicholas Harris (Big River), Nicholas Greenland (Maclean) and Dominique Braham (Willoughby) all capable of winning on the day.

Play gets under way from 9.30am today and finals will commence tomorrow afternoon from 1.30pm.

Spectators are welcome to come out and see the action at Korora.
