Local snap features on Jeanswest T-shirt

FASHION-savvy shoppers across the country will be wearing the Coffs Coast this summer.

Emerald Beach will feature on a Jeanswest T-shirt after local photographer Liz McGinnes won the retailer's Snap Shot Series competition.

Ms McGinnes was one of 10 photographers to win the nationwide competition, which called for images that represent the diversity of the Australian summer.

Judges decided her shot of surfers in the water at Emerald Beach was a perfect fit for Jeanswest's summer collection.

"I love going out on the weekends and to the beach, and just having a look around and trying to stay inspired by what I see," Ms McGinnes said.

"I'm pretty proud of the photo."

She said seeing her shirt on the shelves and in advertising was surreal.

"When I saw the poster in the shop window I was like 'that's my shirt!'

"It's pretty exciting.

"I had a text message from my uncle last night and he had gone and bought the shirt, so the message was a selfie of him wearing my T-shirt.

"I can't wait to see a stranger on the street wearing it for the first time."

In addition to having her image feature on T-shirts sold throughout Australia and New Zealand, she won a Jeanswest voucher, travel voucher, Polaroid camera and a canvas print.
