Local riders get down and dirty at club championships

MORE than fifty competitors from across the Coffs Coast got down and dirty at the Coffs Coast motorcycle on Sunday.

Battling a wet, slippery and in some part treacherous track, local riders took racing to the limits during the first round of the club championships.

The morning session saw racers balancing the thin line between fast times and staying up right with some paying the price for pushing it too hard.

Despite the risky track conditions it is a testament to the local riders that there were no serious mishaps or injuries.

As the day progress and the track dried out with deep ruts making cornering resemble something like slot cars.

Ladies MX was one of the day's standouts with the girls all smiles after a big session on the track.

Demonstration class gave younger riders a chance for some to tear up the track at will with a big thank you to all the mums who gave up their Mother's Day so the kids could ride.

Dirt track events are set to return to the club on May 26 with the next MX event on June 16.
