Local dance sensation's new career

COFFS Coast's own dancing sensation Travers Ross is set to light up national television screens as a choreographer for the popular reality dance show, So You Think You Can Dance - again.

After impressing audiences with his two routines for contestants on the first season earlier this year, Travers has been given the green light to appear as a choreographer for season two.

Travers will be choreographing Hip Hop routines for top 20 contestants on the show from the second episode, which is due to air on Channel Ten in February next year.

“I got the call to start putting some work together, it looks like they might want me for the majority of the season,” Travers told the Coffs Coast Advocate yesterday.

“It's definitely exciting. Especially seeing as I know how it all works a bit more this time round with lighting and cameras and things. I'm more confident with my choreography.”

He said the show had definitely boosted the profile of dancers around the nation.

“The show has created awareness about dancers and that we're really working our butts off, this is a lifetime thing.

“I'm a big supporter of male dance, because male dancers in Australia do struggle. It's great to get some recognition.”
