Local charity is tickled pink

PARK Beach Bowling Club turned to many shades of pink last week to raise funds for local charity The Young and the Breastless.

The greens were filled to capacity and president of the Ladies Bowling Club, Heather Hardwick, thanked all who helped make the night a great success.

Heather was overjoyed with the response of all who dressed in pink to create the theme of this fun night of bowls - and a massive $1750 was raised.

The cheque was presented to The Young and the Breastless, a support group for young women with breast cancer, at the bowling club last week.

The money raised goes into a trust fund to help women from Coffs Harbour and outlying areas with things such as prothesis, lymphodema sleeve, and accommodation while having reconstructive surgery.

The group meets at the Shearwater Lodge at the Coffs Harbour Health Campus on the last Friday of each month.
