Local bands set to battle it out with big guns

UP and coming Coffs Coast musicians are being given a chance to share the stage with big name bands such as Grinspoon, Gyroscope, Mammal, Dead Letter Circus, Blue King Brown and more.

The Open Arms Festival, on at the Coffs Harbour Showground, November 29, is holding a Battle of the Bands competition at the Hoey Moey next month.

You can compete for your band to win $500 and to play live on the main stage, as the only 'local opener' for the 2008 Open Arms Festival.

Heat one is on at the Hoey Moey on Saturday, November 8, followed by heat two on Saturday, November 15 and the final, on Saturday, November 22.

To enter your band call Offbeat Operations for more 6653 8377.

There are limited places available.

The Hoey Moey will also be hosting the Open Arms Festival official after party on November 29.

Entry is free and there will be a bus service available from the showground to the Hoey Moey on the night.
