Little Athletes could be champs

AFTER competing in the Athletics NSW Country Championships at the weekend Coffs Coast Little Athletics are set for the next championship.

Most of those athletes will compete in at the NSW Little Athletics Regional Championships in Tamworth this weekend.

If they qualify in the top two at the Regional Championships, then they will head to Sydney in late March for the NSW Little Athletics State Championships.

Our young athletes have shown good form in the lead up to the championships.

In December, the Coffs Coast Little Athletics Club athletes shone brightly at the Northern Rivers Zone Little Athletics Championships held in Nambucca.

A total of 75 members from the club ran hard, threw big, jumped long and high to achieve fantastic results.

There were a few record breakers, a huge number of individual gold, silver and bronze medals awarded and an even bigger number of PBs achieved.

Coffs Coast also won three out of the four relays, finishing second in the fourth.

Out of the 75, 68 qualified to compete in Tamworth.

Coffs Coast Little Athletics holds its local competition evenings on Thursdays at Toormina Oval from 5-7pm.
