LISTEN: Witness recalls night of murder in police recording
CORONER David O'Connell has released audio of a police interview from the initial Shandee Blackburn murder investigation.
SCROLL DOWN TO LISTEN TO AUDIO
In the audio, police officers interrogate Levii Blackman. Mr Blackman originally told police his good friend William Daniel allegedly told him "someone got murdered ... I did it", confessing to the murder the night Shandee died.
Mr Blackman had told the officers he was smoking outside his unit when Mr Daniel and another friend Norman Dorante appeared out of the dark about midnight on February 9, 2013 as emergency services responded to Shandee's death.

Mr Blackman yesterday told the inquest into Shandee's death he lied to police, and in a murder trial, about this interaction.

In the audio, police asked Mr Blackman what he can remember from that night.
"Just sitting there having a smoke just hearing footsteps coming along, I turned around and look and it was William (Daniel) and Norman (Dorante)," Mr Blackman told police.
"I hit 'em up (asked) what were they doing. They said 'nothing much' and I said what is with all the sirens down the road.
"They just said someone was down there and this is what was happened (sic)."
Police pushed Mr Blackman on the events of the evening in the 56-minute interview and requested he tell them what happened that night in reverse order.
Mr Blackman appears to baulk at the idea in the audio.
"I don't have a clue, man," he said.
