LETTERS: Schoolies antics shows society out of control

IT IS getting so bad that even police are giving up.

I think we all need to share the blame for this situation.

We used to take whatever mum and dad could afford to buy each Christmas, and we had enough respect to realise that some things were just too expensive.

Now kids are telling mum and dad what they want - regardless of the cost - and the parents do as they are told.

This only serves to make greedy little selfish terrors.

I watched a mother recently handing over a box of booze to her teenagers attending the awful schoolies dragnet.

It's high time to realise wisdom only comes with age.

Parents need to set some borders.

Keep your children away from schoolies week.

It's no wonder we are being hit by white stones from the sky - it's someone trying to send us a wake-up call.

The Gold Coast used to be a lovely place to take kids with the bucket and spade, now it has been turned into a den of inequity and drugs.
