Letter: Road still unsafe
IT IS the first anniversary of the fatal accident involving a cyclist on Johnston St near Aldi yet all the council has done is patch the edges of the sealed road.
As a cyclist in Bundaberg I find the local roads dangerous to ride on, due to unfinished road shoulders.
Johnston St is possibly the most dangerous, with deep holes next to Sugarland, then the road widens, yet to cycle track or kerb and gutter then narrow near Aldi, where accident happened.
I was told I would waste my time writing a letter to the editor; nothing would be done because the adjacent land was privately owned.
If it is the land owners' responsibility then they should do the work, or hand over the land to the council.
Will someone do something to get Johnston St, Cummins Rd and Kendalls Rd constructed to the standard we should expect in 2016.
