Letter to the Editor - Wednesday, January 7: Angels among us

SOME weeks ago I completed a nine-week course of daily radiation sessions for prostate cancer at the North Coast Cancer Institute, Coffs Harbour Health Campus.

Throughout the nine weeks, the preceding consultation and post treatment check-ups, I have been deeply impressed with the quality of the service.

Every detail indicated careful organisation and sensitive consideration for the patient.

From the staff at reception to the doctors, nurses and therapists who delivered the treatment, the level of care borders on angelic.

Coffs clearly has a cancer facility that is world class.

To all of the staff and to Professor Shakespeare who heads the institute, I express my deepest gratitude.

The discomfort of treatment fades rapidly from memory but I will never forget the people who cared.
