Letter to the Editor - Saturday, May 9: Troubled times

I HAVE, for some time, held the opinion that this world is spiralling downhill morally, politically, productively and mentally.

What sort of country has Australia proved to be? Drug dealers, who were prepared for their cargo be distributed among the drug addicts that had become that way through the same actions of the Bali pair, have become a political incident, pushed by the Prime Minister no less.

The withdrawal of the ambassador will make no difference in Indonesia; they will carry on as usual.

We will have to wait and see what steps Abbott takes when Indonesia puts its greedy paws out for money the next time there is a natural disaster hits there. Going on past history, the donation will be equivalent to the size of the media coverage, with the politicians standing in line as if the money came out of their pockets.
