Letter to the Editor - Saturday, June 27: Raise your voice

WELL, so much for rate pegging.

After the huge amounts of ratepayers' money wasted on consultants and surveys performed by Coffs Council over the past months and let's not forget the countless hours spent doorknocking for a petition, letters to the editor, hundreds of letters to IPART and to council itself, we ratepayers achieved absolutely nothing. I was of the belief that the Local Government Association, headed by Keith Rhoades, and IPART were appointed to oversee local councils and make sure they were listening to ratepayers and their concerns.

There appears to be nobody there to help we the ratepayers, so I guess the only chance we have to have a say is at the council elections.
