Letter to the Editor - Saturday, July 5: The time has come

IN RELATION to your feedback on a bypass for Coffs Harbour it is really a no-brainer it should have happened before Taree did, as anyone would know who travels through Coffs it takes a long time to get from one side of town to the other.

Near misses are a daily routine, it is dangerous and will only get worse. As for motels and tourist-based entities losing business, I believe it would bring more tourists to town. Port Macquarie or Noosa Heads have far more relaxed feels now they are bypassed.

The problem is they have taken so long to get the highway to dual lanes it has got expensive. Putting Coffs off for another 20 years will only get out of reach of the government. They are broke now, that will not improve with time.

The time is now.
