Letter to the Editor - Saturday, July 5: Servo a silly idea

THIS idea for a new $2m servo must be the most idiotic proposal since the nearby development at the corner of Bray St and the highway went ahead some years ago. As anyone who has driven that stretch of highway between the Marcia and Orlando St traffic lights, particularly of a late afternoon will attest, it is the most congested spot in Coffs Harbour.

Can you imagine how much worse and more dangerous it would be with a large drive-in service station complex situated right in the middle of this stretch?

Recently we have been talking about the proposed city bypass. What is the sense of having such a large complex on this side of the highway at the northern end of Coffs if (hopefully) in the not-too-distant future, it will quickly become redundant.
