Letter to the Editor - October 22: Show some respect

MY WIFE and I have lived among the kangaroos at Safety Beach for 10 years now and have never seen, or heard of, anyone being menaced by one.

We have, however, seen many instances of roos being menaced by humans. People come here and bring dogs which love to chase the roos, some owners even think it is a joke to see the animals panic when they are pursued.

We always remember though that these are wild animals and should be treated with the respect they deserve and we do discourage children from going too close to them.
