Letter to the Editor - May 13: Volunteers are priceless

CANCER Council NSW would like to extend a heartfelt thanks to our volunteers in Lower Mid North Coast and Coffs Coast for their support as we mark our 60th birthday on May 13.

It is fitting that our organisation turns 60 years old in the same week as National Volunteer Week, where we recognise and celebrate the six million Australians who donate their time across the country.

Today, Cancer Council NSW has more than 32,500 volunteers and community supporters in NSW.

These volunteers generously donate their time working in a number of different roles to enable us to provide cancer prevention, advocacy and support programs, to run events such as Relay For Life and Daffodil Day, and to invest more than $130million into research over the past 10 years.

As we celebrate 60 years of Cancer Council NSW, as co-ordinator of Volunteering for Northern NSW, I would like to sincerely thank all our volunteers, both past and present, for their support.

If you are interested in getting involved, we have a number of opportunities currently available.

If you would like to volunteer for Cancer Council NSW, please contact me on 66391305.
