Letter to the Editor - March 19: Resettle the former PM

BEFORE losing the next election, the Conservative Turnbull Government should honour the ex-prime minister Tony Abbott by offering him a position as ambassador for the country.

Abbott has often enough spruiked about the first-class facilities for the refugees on Nauru.

Perhaps we could use some of these as accommodation and embassy for Ambassador Abbott and his loyal staff.

Such a position would keep Abbott in touch with the real world and afford him a first-class view of the increased ocean level and coral bleaching, a direct result of his policy on climate change.

On Nauru, Abbott could practise his "direct action" on climate change by teaching the locals how to grow vegetables in gardens inundated by saltwater.
