Letter to the Editor - July 4: Note to all dog owners

IN RESPONSE to "Take responsibility dog owners" (CCA 27/6), how many larger dogs that attack little dogs, do so in retaliation to being confronted or challenged by smaller dog?

Too many dog owners have little control over their dogs of any size. Just because your dog is little or friendly means nothing when running up to another dog.

There are actually no breeds known to attack as you put it. If you look at numbers most dog attacks are committed by smaller breeds.

That is not to say they are all savage.

There is no need for a muzzle on any breed, unless it has been declared dangerous.

Just because any dog hasn't attacked before doesn't mean it won't.

That is true but that applies to all dogs. regardless of breed.
