Letter to the Editor - December 6: Promise unfulfilled

IN SEPTEMBER last year, the only real, tangible election promise Luke Hartsuyker committed to was bringing "300 ATO jobs" to Coffs Harbour.

The past 12 months have seen no progress from the local member on this important matter. I find this very disappointing and consider it to be a major failure.

Recently a Central Coast newspaper stated that Joe Hockey has organised for 500 ATO jobs to be moved to Gosford, boosted by a further 100 positions from the Department of Finance. A purpose-built office will be constructed, providing even more benefit to the local economy.

Could Luke Hartsuyker advise the local community as to what liaison he has had with Joe Hockey on the opportunity to move ATO jobs to Coffs Harbour?

Does the local member know that other regions and electorates are being allocated hundreds of government positions?

Does the local member expect to achieve any of the proposed target of 300 jobs?

Does the local member appreciate the disappointment of the community when he fails to deliver his only measurable pre-election commitment?
