Letter to the Editor - December 10: Not cost effective

SO PREMIER Baird wants to sell 49% of our, the people's, poles and wires for $20 billion. Our poles and wires still create good income for the state and will continue to for a few more years before they are outdated. Mr Baird says that apart from mostly city-based infrastructure, funds will be pumped into schools, hospitals, sport and culture.

It doesn't take much to work out that the $20 billion is nowhere near enough. Schools, hospitals, arts and culture have had their funding cut dramatically by this same Coalition but now Mr Baird wants to pump money back, that is if there is any money left after the major infrastructure works planned by this Premier.

By doing all this pumping he says that his government can transform NSW for a generation. Is a generation as far as this leader can look ahead?
