Letter to the Editor - August 8: Club needs an airstrip

IT IS an absolute outrage council is proposing a rental increase of 400% for the club's premises at the airport.

It boggles the mind to think the club, which is a not-for-profit organisation, has been in existence for a period of 87 years and with the stroke of the pen it will cease to exist.

I am not a member of the aero club nor am I associated in any way with the aviation industry.

Surely there must be someone at council's top end to understand the club cannot relocate to the other side of town for cheaper rent. It must have direct access to an "air strip."
