Letter to the Editor - August 15: Not worthy of the title yet

LIKE many others, I believe this area to be the best part of Australia, and so I was pleased to see your headline "Coffs, the healthy eating capital" (Coffs Coast Advocate, August 12) and the boost to our ego.

But I read the article and we are really the best of a bad bunch.

We are only four points above the Australian average.

At 64 out of 100, should we be calling ourselves the Healthy Eating Capital?

It has taken some 60 to 70 years to get plan packaging for tobacco products.

I hope it won't take as long to get junk food labelled for what it is.

When that happens, our score could rise to 85 or 90

Then we can claim to be "healthy eating"
