Letter to the Editor - April 16: Don’t lose sight of facts of life

I CONDEMN the Leader of the Opposition for his deceit on marriage equality.

He bandies about the expression "marriage equality" for two types of relationships that are as alike as chalk and cheese and in effect says that they should be regarded as equivalent.

Marriage is the joining for life of a man and a woman and this implies the bringing to birth of offspring to whom the parents sacrifice about two decades of their lives in nurturing, feeding, clothing, educating and loving.

This ensures the protection of the succeeding generation and in effect the continuing survival of the human race. This is not an exaggeration, this is a fact of life.

Hence, marriage equality is simply a cheap deceptive catch-cry or slogan.
