VANESSA Lea could very well be the next big thing in Australian country music.

The local singer-songwriter, who just returned from competing as a finalist in the Tamworth Country Music Festival Toyota Star Maker Competition, has just had her locally-filmed video clip for her song ‘Oh Coramba’ accepted to the Country Music Channel. Now she needs your help to get airplay.

“We would love for people to jump on and request the song,” Ms Lea said.

“I’m delighted that this clip, which was totally funded and produced locally, can make it to the big screen and be broadcast all over Australia.

“I am so proud of this, and it's proof positive that hard work and determination do eventually pay off! It’s a really light-hearted and fun song which celebrates the great Aussie tradition of mateship and community, and celebrates this beautiful area we have chosen to live in.

Ms Lea wrote and recorded all 12 songs on her latest album in her ‘Hair of the Dog’ studio in Coramba and had it mastered locally by Pete Dyball of ‘Valley Sounds Studio’ in Dairyville.

“The clip was great fun to make, with all the locals joining in and helping out. We can’t wait to do the next one,” she said.
