Lesnar back in title hunt after return bout

MMA: American Brock Lesnar made a victorious return to the UFC, at the expense of Australian-based New Zealander Mark Hunt.

The WWE superstar’s first fight in the Octagon in five years resulted in a 29-27 points decision win over Hunt in UFC 200 in Las Vegas.

His win over a top-10 opponent puts Lesnar back in the frame to challenge for the heavyweight title he held between 2008 and 2010.

Lesnar however remains contracted to the WWE, and so hasn’t made a decision about his immediate future.

“One day at a time,” Lesnar (pictured) said.

Like Holly Holm before her, Miesha Tate’s reign as UFC women’s bantamweight champions lasted just one fight. Tate lost by submission to Brazilian Amanda Nunes.

The title hasn’t been defended successfully since Holm knocked out Ronda Rousey at UFC 193 in Melbourne last November.
