Quality donations for flood appeal
LEONIE Tonacia and Biggles Flight Lounge want to thank all those people who have supported their collection for Queensland flood victims.
“The amount and the quality of donations was amazing, with some people even going out and buying new things,” collection organiser Leonie said.
“We need to thank Hi Tech Storage, Allied Pickford Removalists and Coffs City Removalists for donating the packaging and Diane from Boambee Newsagency for being a collection point and helping with the sorting.
“We also want to thank all our airport family who contributed in so many ways; Dennis Martin the airport manager who is always very supportive and helpful to all of us, and the council men and Mel from the office who lent us their muscles.
“Also James at Australian Air Express for organising the trans- port which was donated by Lindsay Bros.
“Last, but not least, the people who donated everything – the enormous response was heart-warming. The Biggles team wants to thank everyone for the enormous response.”
The collection, which closed on Saturday, saw a wide range of donations from pillows, doonas, sleeping bags and lightweight blankets to sunscreen, mosquito repellent, coloured pencils and feminine hygiene products.
The Biggles team packed up the last of 150 boxes and 30 bags yesterday, which will be taken by van to the Lindsay depot today to be packed on to pallets for the trip to Queensland.
