Learn how to install and use child car restraints

PREGNANCY Care Coffs Harbour will offer free demonstrations on the installation and use of properly secured baby and child car restraints.

The demonstrations will be offered in partnership with Absolute Panel and Paint at Pregnancy Care's at Baby and Children's Goods Market on Saturday, April 2.

"We are delighted to have partnered with a local business to help provide this important safety information to mums and dads, grandparents and carers who are required to comply with the mandatory child restraint for vehicles legislation," Pregnancy Care Coffs Harbour president Gwen Nyhan said.

"It's one thing to be aware that the legislation exists, but it's another to obtain practical knowledge on how to use the car seat mountings correctly to ensure maximum safety for your child travelling in the car."

The twice-yearly markets allow stallholder parents to declutter their cupboards of unwanted baby and children's clothes and other related items and make some money, while the stallholder fees allow the volunteer organisation to continue its work.

The markets are also an opportunity for parents and parents-to-be to save money by purchasing pre-loved goods.

The markets will be held at St John's Anglican Church Hall on Saturday, April 2 from 9am.
