Learn about climate change impacts

ARE YOU interested in learning about how the predicted rise in flood and storm frequency and rising seas will affect our coastal environment?

Bellinger Landcare is inviting people to join Landcare’s Colin Matthews and NPWS discovery co-ordinator Andrew Turbill for a climate change walk and talk on Saturday, March 19.

The presentation and walk are aimed at increasing people’s understanding of how a changing climate will impact on the habitats, plants and animals of the coastal zone.

Mr Turbill, who is also a passionate climate change science communicator, will set the scene with a presentation on climate change and its likely impacts on nature from the local to the global.

He and Mr Matthews will then lead a short walk around Urunga and the lagoon area looking at some of the potential impacts on coastal habitats.

The event will be held in the Senior Citizens Hall in Urunga from 9.30am to 1pm.

Morning tea will be provided and registration for the event is essential.
