Law firms get behind Wills Day

SEVERAL law firms throughout our region are throwing their support behind their local communities.

Legal eagles from Robson and Oliver in Sawtell have joined others across the coastal strip that are now part of Westpac Life Saver Rescue Helicopter’s Wills Day to be held on Wednesday, March 23, and Thursday, March 24.

Wills Day is an opportunity for members of the public to have a will drawn up by a registered solicitor or have their current will updated.

Participating solicitors have offered to donate the entire will preparation fee to the Westpac Life Saver Rescue Helicopter.

That means the $70 fee to have a will prepared, or $120 for a couple, will go straight to supporting the rescue helicopter.

“Many people don’t know that Westpac Life Saver Rescue Helicopter needs to fundraise over half of its annual operating budget each year,” said the rescue helicopter’s general manager Kris Beavis.

“Without the support of the community we would not be able to hold these fundraising initiatives, which are of vital importance to the helicopter’s existence.”

All proceeds from Wills Day go directly towards keeping the helicopter flying.

Bookings for Wills Day can be made by phoning the rescue helicopter on 6627 4444.
