Missing Tweed woman saved by Good Samaritan

Updated, 10.23am: Missing woman Elizabeth Blake was found over night.

Tweed Police Inspector Jim Kain said she was found safe and well.

"She was found by a member of the public," he said.

Insp Kain said she was taken in by member of the public until her family was able to be contacted.

"She was cared for during the night," he said.

Ms Blake was located in Queensland.

She went missing form the Tweed Hospital on May 21.

Yesterday police launched a boat, air and land search to try and find her. 

Initial report, 3.18pm:  Police are still appealing for information to help find missing woman Elizabeth Blake.

She was last seen leaving Tweed Hospital about 3.40am on May 21.    

Ms Blake is described as being of Caucasian appearance, about 178cm tall and is of slim build.   

She has pink dyed hair and was last seen wearing a multi-coloured jumper, black track pants with white stripes down the side and pink slippers.  

Her family and police hold serious concerns for her welfare due to a medical condition that requires daily medication.  

Officers attached to Tweed Byron Local Area Command are currently conducting a search for Ms Blake around the Tweed River and surrounding area.

Initial report, 10.50: A land and air search is underway in the Tweed for a missing woman.

Police say they hold grave concerns for a 49-year-old woman who has gone missing from the Tweed Hospital.

Elizabeth Blake was reported missing on May 21, after she walked out of the hospital, Tweed Police sergeant Jason Coleman said.

"Police are concerned for her welfare,"he said.

The woman has mental health issues.

Police and a rescue helicopter are currently searching behind the hospital along the Tweed river.

Ms Blake was last seen wearing a purple robe. She has dyed pink hair and is of medium build.
