Ky and Bonnie earn double dose of Ocean Swims medals

IT WAS a case of deja vu when Ky Kinsela and Bonnie Hancock claimed victory in the Beachside Radiology Coffs Harbour 2000m Ocean Swim.

Earlier in the day the pair had also won the ANZ Bank 600m swim around the jetty waters.

Bonnie, now living at Sorrento and from a prominent water-loving Sawtell family, finished in 7:40, ahead of locals Tahlia Kollen and Mette Klinkers.

It was 15-year-old Ky of Upper Orara who claimed line honours in the 600m event for the males in a slick time of 7:16, followed by Trent Grimsey from Cashmere and Kai Onley of Sapphire Beach.

The same three repeated the dose in the main event with Ky winning a tight sprint up the beach6 to win with a time of 23:33, just ahead of Trent in 23:37 and sixteen year old Kai Onley in 23:39.

In the women's 2000m race, Bonnie again relegated Tahlia into second place with Meegan Hoare of Fortitude Valley in third berth.
