Kristin Cavallari's brother found dead

KRISTIN Cavallari's older brother has been found dead.

Michael Cavallari has been missing for almost two weeks, after his car was found abandoned close to a gas station on the side of a Utah highway on November 27, and the former 'Hills' star has confirmed his body has now been found.

In a statement, Kristin told E! News: "We want to thank everyone for their love, support and prayers during this very difficult time.

"We have just been informed by the authorities my brother's body has been found. This is a very painful time and we are still processing it all. We kindly ask everyone please respect our privacy during our time of grieving."

Meanwhile, a spokesperson for the Utah Medical Examiner's Office confirmed that a body had been transported to the examiner's office in Salt Lake City.

Michael, who was 30, was arrested on November 23 on an allegation of making threats, after a woman called the police to claim he was standing outside her apartment with a firearm.

The two had argued two days prior, according to the woman, who also claimed that he kept returning to her apartment.

Michael, for his part, had denied doing anything to the woman.
