Kookaburras hit back with Brit thrashing

THE Kookaburras have put the finishing touches to their preparations for the World League semi-finals, which start in Belgium on Saturday, thrashing Great Britain 6-1 at Bisham Abbey.

Coach Graham Reid said the performance was a good response to Saturday's disappointing 3-1 loss to the Brits, and the mood in the team was good ahead of the World League campaign.

"It's positive at the moment. Without wanting to downplay Saturday's result, the boys were disappointed with themselves," he said.

"Today's match was more of a benchmark performance and we need to take that into Belgium with us."

The Kookaburras are drawn to play France in their opening game early on Sunday morning.
