Tank’n’Tummy robbed at knife-point

FIVE young men used knives to threaten staff when they robbed Boambee’s Tank’n’Tummy service station about 5.15pm yesterday.

Late yesterday police were interviewing staff from the service station and convenience store and combing the area near Bruce King Drive and the Boambee neighbourhood centre in a search for the robbers.

The men reportedly escaped from the service station with a large quantity of cigarettes and the contents of the cash register.

The owner of the Tank’n’Tummy, Ivan Hulbert, was initially unaware of the robbery as he was on the road travelling to his other independent service station at Wallabadah.

It is hoped footage from the service station’s CCTV cameras may help to identify the culprits.
