Kids get message to eat healthy

COFFS Coast Growers Market, in partnership with North Coast Area Health, Red Cross and Total Gardens, will be holding special school holiday events tomorrow to promote healthy eating to children.

All events will be held at the weekly Growers Market in the City Centre, Harbour Drive, and is an excellent opportunity for parents and their children to make a morning of their weekly shop at the markets.

“It is important to get the message of healthy eating across to all people, but especially children,” market co-ordinator Jan Rooney said.

There will be free market bags given out on the day which will contain Greenpatch organic seeds – children can take these home to start their garden – as well as activity pages, recipe ideas, smoothy cups and much more.

Kids can also have some fun making ‘Sprout Men’ at the market between 9.30am and 11.30am.
