Keith steps up again

THE Mayor of Coffs Harbour, Keith Rhoades, has officially thrown his hat into the ring for re-election.

Cr Rhoades' nomination to run for a third term as city mayor brings the current number of candidates for the top position to two.

Greens candidate Dr Sally Townley is also running for the position.

Cr Rhoades has been a member of Coffs Harbour City Council since 1991 and mayor since 2004.

He said he was enthusiastic about the four years ahead for Coffs Harbour.

"I thoroughly enjoy my time on council as mayor and feel I have a lot to contribute," Cr Rhoades said.

"I have demonstrated strong leadership and can apply my vast experience in local government to again lead the next council in what will be exciting times."

Local elections are being held on September 8.
