Karting glory for Queensland

IT may not have happened in State of Origin but the Queenslanders have managed to dominate their NSW rivals in one sport this week.

During the latest round of the ProKart Australia Endurance Kart Championship which was held at Raleigh Raceway over the weekend, the Queenslanders have managed to dominate proceedings after they took out all three spots on the podium.

Heading the podium at the completion of the 'Raleigh 6-Hour', which doubled as rounds of the National, New South Wales and Queensland Championships was the A1 Racing team who finished with a total 367 laps and a complete lap ahead of their nearest rivals.

The victory was a welcome relief for the A1 team as they had been narrowly defeated on the final lap in the previous round.

Behind the A1 Racing team was an amazing finish between the team of Adrenalin Rush Racing kart number two edging out their number one kart by only 0.03 seconds.

The first NSW team home was Team Kaos in fourth position.

The 'Raleigh 6-Hour' was marred by a large crash on the 308th lap from the Bell Pipes Racing team while they were well placed inside the Top 10 at the time and their race was brought to premature end due to the substantial amount of damage sustained in the heavy crash into the wall.

The next round of the ProKart Australia Championship is to be held at Oran Park Raceway for the running of the 24-hour race to be held over the June long weekend.
