JAMES Packer went to extreme lengths to try to shield Karl Stefanovic from the paparazzi during their recent holiday together.
The Today show host and his girlfriend Jasmine Yarbrough spent a few days in late June with the billionaire on his luxury superyacht, the Arctic P, as it floated in the waters off Bora Bora. But wherever Stefanovic goes, photographers follow, and two Sydney snappers managed to track him down.

"Just as we got there, Karl and Jasmine arrived on jet skis and we got to work," one of the two photographers told Fairfax Media. As they got to work, so too did Packer's security team who did all they could to prevent the photographers from getting any pictures, including trying to pay them off.
"The Arctic P's crew had surrounded our boat on jet skis, causing wake," the photographer said. "One of Packer's crew came up to our boat on one of their big tender boats (they have about five hanging off the Arctic P) and tried to negotiate with our skipper to pay him off in order to get rid of us."
When the snappers turned down the money, the security team opted for a basic tactic in order to thwart the photographers.
"The crew member stayed in a tender boat in front of our boat in an attempt to block us from taking photographs, but we still managed to get our shots," the photographer told Fairfax.
The casino mogul inherited the 88-metre-long Arctic P from his late father, Kerry Packer. The vessel, which reportedly costs $10 million per year to run, has room for 12 guests (plus 13 crew members), a helipad, an amphitheatre, a jacuzzi and a swimming pool.
According to The Australian, Packer might soon sell the Arctic P to his older sister, Gretel.
