Kangaroos’ win not convincing
NORTH Coffs continued their recent run of winning form against the Coffs Swans with a 55-point victory at the Coffs Coast Leisure Park.
It was a less than convincing performance by the normally methodical Kangaroos outfit as they were frustrated by the Swans negating tactics.
The Swans were able to get men behind the ball and were only dominated in the second quarter after the away side lost a man to the sin-bin.
The Kangaroos again had more artillery up forward with Ben Sykes kicking four goals in the first half only to be matched by Ryan Turner who again displayed a clean pair of hands as he presses for representative selection.
The red and whites were a much improved unit compared to previous weeks.
While Peter Robinson was again a rock down back they well served by Kris Rundell in the centre.
He formed a strong combination with ruckman Ben Miller who improved as the match progressed.
Levi Sands provided strong rebound off half-back in what was a strength for the Kangaroos.
Captain-coach Darren Funston again led from the front in what ended up being a flattering scoreline for his side.
