COFFS Harbour will once again be the site of a major junior sporting tournament with the NSW Country Junior Rugby Union hosting its 2013 championships in May.
To take place at BCU International Stadium on May 4 and 5, the tournament will see more than 280 Under-14 and U-15 players take to the field across the two days.
Each of NSW Country Rugby Union's eight zones will send two teams to the event with all playing for the honour of the best country side in NSW.
"Coffs Harbour has always been a great location to host an event like this," Country Rugby Union NSW spokesman Marcus Vaughan said.
"BCU Stadium is a sensational venue and will add to what is sure to be successful championships.
"The championships will bring in players and families from all across NSW so it is sure to be a huge weekend."
While all age groups will be focusing on winning the competition, the NSW Country Junior championships will also be a chance fro players to take their rugby to another level.
"All the zones have been putting in the hard yards on the pitch and will be up for some big games of rugby in May," Vaughan said.
"There will be selectors at every game looking for the competitions best for the NSW Country representative side.
"The U-14 and U-15 age groups are very important in the development of the next generation of rugby stars so
There will be plenty of focus on the on field action."
While teams from the Hunter and Illawarra regions set to begin the championships as favourites Vaughan said other sides will be looking for an upset.
"Mid North Coast and Far North Coast are always strong and will be looking for some big wins," he said.
"There will be some cracking action on the field and I can't wait."
