MAFS blow-up: ‘I could smell a rat’

MARRIED At First Sight went to a whole other level on Tuesday night as the women screamed at each other amid growing suspicions about Ines and Sam's relationship.

Earlier in the episode, viewers watched as Ines and Sam woke up together - with their partners Bronson and Elizabeth oblivious to their tryst - and confirmed they'd hooked up.

An ugly scene erupted later as the women all hit the town for a girls' night and Elizabeth made her return to the show after a bout of illness.

Suspicions about Ines' sneaky romance were raised when Elizabeth began discussing her "husband's" flaws, and Ines jumped to his defence and attacked Elizabeth for "disrespecting" him.

It was out of character for Ines - and fellow bride Jules has now admitted that's when she started to "smell a rat".

"When she was really vocal about Sam and had his back and was sticking up for him I was like, 'Whoa'," Jules told 9Honey. "I stood up and said, 'You've never really had much to say for yourself until now, do you like him?' I could smell a rat, basically.

"And she just said to everyone, 'Nope, not at all'."

The night was filled with drama.
The night was filled with drama.

Ines blatantly denied there was anything between herself and Sam when confronted by an angry Elizabeth, who'd heard rumours of a sneaky liaison from fellow contestant Cyrell.

Having now watched the episode back, and realising they were all lied to, Jules criticised Ines for causing "hurt" among the group.

"Obviously Ines was given the opportunity at the girls' night to actually say, 'Yeah, I do like him'," said Jules.

"I mean she lied to us all, which is, you know, her prerogative, but until the girls' night, she never really had an opinion on anything. Except for, obviously, when she was being filmed when no one else was around.

"Maybe you're not meant to be with your partner, but just be honest about it and try not to hurt people along the way."

Married At First Sight continues at 7.30pm tonight on Nine.
