Jobs boost is great for our region

NEWS that hundreds of jobs could be created following the approval of a major retail development on the Coffs Coast is exciting in these tough times.

The development in Nambucca will create more than 500 new jobs for the Coffs Coast.

The development will include a shopping complex of 31 specialty stores, a major supermarket, two department stores, and four kiosks.

In any terms, that has to be good news.

And there's a double win here because the deal is a massive bonus for indigenous communities across Australia, with the land owned by local Aboriginal groups.

The idea is being heralded as a forerunner for new types of development for indigenous people that gives the local Aboriginal council a huge leg-up in its ongoing work to assist its community.
