JM Kelly fined $600,000
LOCAL construction company JM Kelly has been fined $600,000 by the Federal Court in Brisbane for illegal price fixing.
The conduct related to tenders for one Local Government and three State Government construction projects in Queensland.
Justice Logan also imposed penalties on other Queensland-based companies, $450,000 to be paid by TF Woollam and Son Pty Ltd and $250,000 to be paid by Carmichael Builders Pty Ltd for their illegal price fixing.
Justice Logan said the conduct involved a betrayal of trust.
Construction Manager of JM Kelly, Mr John Murphy was party to one contravention by that company and was penalised $30,000 to be paid within 6 months.
