Jetty water park will make a school holiday splash
THE Jetty looks like it's going to be the place to be for students during the upcoming school holidays.
An inflatable water park within the harbour, south of the Jetty, will be a major attraction for school kids looking for an activity to fill in their day.
As the corporate manager of the Coffs Coast State Park, Coffs Harbour City Council has entered into a temporary license agreement with Splash WaterParks which will run the inflatable water park until the end of the school holidays on Tuesday, April 26.
Council as Corporate Manager of the Coffs Coast State Park have for an inflatable water park within the harbour, south of the Jetty structure.
As manager of Council's Holiday Parks & Reserves, Jason Bailey said the school holiday activity will provides an opportunity to gauge its impact.
"Council has received several recent expressions of interest for this type of activity with proposals ranging from six months per year (spring- summer) to a semi-permanent year round arrangement," Mr Bailey said.
"With approval granted from all relevant stakeholders including Department of Primary Industries, Crown Lands and Roads and Maritime Services we will be able to assess if the trial is successful, and potentially look to consider future options."
Should the trial prove successful, Council will consider going to open tender for future licenses to operate similar activities.
