Jett and Lily going 'our own ways' after Dancing final
JETT Kenny says he and Lily Cornish will go their separate ways after next week's Dancing With The Stars grand final.
Despite a rumoured romance and the ironman admitting to having feelings for his dance partner, work commitments will take them to opposite sides of the world.
"We knew this was going to end, it was just matter of what point," Jett told the Daily.
"We're going to spend this last week together, do the grand final and go our own ways from there. We'll stay in touch. She's got plans working wise in Europe. It's just the start of her career really.
"For her to get me through to the semi-final as a 20-year-old, she's done incredibly well. I couldn't have asked for a better teacher. She's a lovely person and I'm very happy to have been a part of her life and getting to meet her family as well."
Jett, 24, was eliminated from the reality dancing show last night after performing an improved tango and a jive/tango fusion.
While the judges said he'd improved significantly, it wasn't enough to keep him in grand final contention.
"I was tossing and turning in bed last night thinking about the one step I missed in the jive," he said.
"Last night I got kicked out but I got kicked out on a bit of a high. I danced the best I have all season. There were a few mishaps here and there, which was bound to happen, but a few weeks ago I would have let that beat me. Instead I performed through it.
"I'm very happy with how far I got and my improvement.
"There were no free passes but a few things went my way so I made it to the semi-final. Everyone will be back for the grand final, so technically I don't miss a week."
Jett is looking forward to a few weeks of rest before he's back into surf lifesaving training.
"At the moment I'm looking forward to my two or three weeks off to relax and do absolutely nothing," he said.
"It's been a hectic schedule so it's going to be refreshing having some time off."
The Dancing With The Stars grand final airs on Monday at 7.30pm on Ten.
