Jets’ flying visit to Coffs Harbour

COFFS Harbour football fans will have a chance to meet the Newcastle Jets new head coach and players from the Hyundai A-League club on Tuesday.

The Jets will be at The Greater Building Society's Coffs Harbour branch at Park Beach Plaza on Tuesday afternoon from 4.30pm.

The visit is part of a 1000 kilometre, six day tour as the club seeks to connect with and inspire football fans from across Northern NSW.

Newcastle Jets CEO Mitchell Murphy, said the tour is part of a broader, two year, Jets Connect community engagement program, sponsored by The Greater, to help the Jets be highly visible in a variety of communities in and around Northern NSW.

"With many new players the tour is an ideal opportunity for them to bond in the lead up to 11th Hyundai A-League season," Mitchell said.

"The time is certainly right for us to take the club to towns in Northern New South Wales where we know we've got some highly passionate members and fans.

"By providing football people in Coffs Harbour with the opportunity to interact with our club, we have the potential to positively influence, or even start, someone's football journey."

The Greater's Coffs Harbour branch manager Kylie Deans said she and her staff were looking forward to giving customers and other local football fans the opportunity to meet the Jets at the Greater's branch.

"This is a great chance for local kids and Jets' fans to get some autographs and some great giveaways," Kylie said.

"The Greater is customer owned so we are about using our profits to benefit customers as well as support community with events such as this Jets' visit."

The tour will also visit Taree, Port Macquarie, Armidale and Tamworth. For more details visit http://www.NewcastleJets.com.au or http://www.greater.com.au
