FROM playing local gigs in Coffs Harbour to walking the red carpet in Sydney, local country music singer Jesse Emmanuel’s star is rising at a supersonic rate.

Tonight, Ms Emmanuel is headed to Sydney for the prestigious MusicOz Awards, recognised widely as the ARIA’s for independent artists.

Not only will she walking the red carpet and performing at the national televised event, she has also been nominated for awards in the Country Music category and also for APRA Songwriter of the Year.

“I’m just a regular Coffs Harbour gal but tonight I’m going to feel like a star,” Ms Emmanuel said.

“I am super excited, this will be my first big ‘red carpet’ event and I can’t wait to get all dolled up and talk to the Australian media.

“I can’t wait to take the stage in front of millions of viewers and show them what I’ve got. It feels so good for all my hard work to finally be paying off and for my efforts to be seen by the general public.”

While a win would be a fairytale ending to the night, Ms Emmanuel is happy just to be a part of the event.

“I’m up against some music industry veterans and I don’t expect miracles, but I am so excited to be named one of the Top 5 Independent Country music artists of Australia,” she said.
