Jazz Fest a big success

THIS year's Jazz and Blues Festival is over, leaving a song in many souls and a relieved weary smile on organisers' faces.

Co-ordinator Rowen Butler said Sunday's Jazz by the River attracted a whopping 2000 spectators and the weekend pass tally hovered around a very healthy 550.

All this means coffers are filled for next year's big one - the 20th Jazz and Blues Festival.

Sunday night saw all venues still full of eager audiences. Jeff Lang's final concert was a treat with the band finding their groove and playing non-stop for 120 minutes.
