It’s tea time at the CBD tea shop

IF ANYONE knows how to throw a great morning tea, it’s Alison Paul.

As manager of the Red Sparrow Tea Company in Coffs Central, she certainly knows what makes a good brew and is putting the kettle on to host an Australia’s Biggest Morning Tea on Thursday to raise funds for the Cancer Council.

“This is the first time Red Sparrow Tea has hosted a Biggest Morning Tea, but being the local tea shop we thought we’d get on board and have teamed up with K’Pane Bakery who will be providing yummy little bakery treats,” Alison said.

“I had a skin cancer removed two years ago but I’m lucky that it was detected early. Unfortunately most Australians have been touched by cancer in one way or another, so events like this are vital for raising money for such an amazing organisation.”

It is estimated one in two Australians will be diagnosed with cancer by the age of 85. Funds raised from the event support Cancer Council’s vital research, prevention and support service programs.

The morning tea will run May 26 from 9am and for $5 you will get a large cup of tea plus a petit four pastry from K’Pane Bakery with $2 from every cup donated to the Cancer Council.

This is a great opportunity to raise money for the Cancer Council and to try some different teas with eight assorted teas on offer throughout the day. A traditional Australian Breakfast Tea will be the first tea brewed between 9am and10am, finishing with Quince Vanilla Green Tea between 4pm and 5pm.
